Background

KELTA is one of the components of the KINSET model for In-service training.

It was established in the Krasnoyarsk region in 1996. KELTA was initiated by former KINSET participants in order to support professional communication and further professional development.

KELTA is a non-profit organisation.

Mission

KELTA provides support in sustainable professional development of English language teachers of various educational institutions thus contributing to the long-term objectives of the ELT Reform in the Krasnoyarsk region.

Aims

∙ To develop ELT professional community;
∙ To provide opportunities for Special Interest Groups' development;
∙ To support the Krasnoyarsk ELT Reform sector project' implementation;
∙ To provide the ELT community with opportunities for exchange of ideas, resources, information and experience;
∙ To establish partnership relationships with the local educational authorities to speed up the process of positive change in ELT across the region.


Special Interest Groups' Development

KELTA members are provided with an opportunity to contribute to the ELT development in their educational institutions by participating in the work of various Special Interest Groups (SIGs).

KELTA Newsletter EPISTULA

Kelta newsletter is issued twice a year. It
∙ informs KELTA members about current trends in the ELT community development in the region and the country;
∙ presents news from SIGs;
∙ provides space for discussions on the burning issues that might interest teachers;
∙ informs KELTA members about ELT events and training programmes for English language teachers.
