WHAT IS KINSET?

KINSET stands for the Krasnoyarsk In-service Teacher Training Project.

The KINSET project was initiated by the Krasnoyarsk Regional Centre for Education Development and the Institute for English Language Education, Lancaster University in 1996. The project was supported by the Russian Ministry of Education and sponsored by the British Council in Russia.
The project aimed to develop a new approach and a new model for In-service training for English language teachers in the Krasnoyarsk region. The designed training course is targeted at creating environment and initiating English language teachers' professional development
FOUNDING MOTHERS AND FATHERS

A team of Russian and British professionals in ELT and management in ELT initiated the KINSET Project in 1996.

KINSET MODEL
To initiate and further support teachers' initiatives and professional development, an In-service training model consisting of the following components was created:
- A two-year training course;
- Resource Centre;
- KINSET Outreach Co-ordinators' Network;
- Krasnoyarsk English Language Teachers'Association (KELTA).
